The Cuckoo Clock is a magical timepiece and the movement is almost always weight driven, there are few that are Quartz and some spring driven, but for the most part remained the same since they were first created in the black forest of Germany.

The inside mechanics feature precision mechanical movement consisting of wheels and gears that generate the power to swing the pendulum that runs the cuckoo clock. To wind the clock, since most are mechanically weight driven, you gently pull the chains that hold the two weights or cones hanging from the bottom of the chalet or clock housing.
